DIEGESIS : THE UNCONVENTIONAL MAGAZINE OF FILM AND TELEVISION CRITICISM
Picture

EAMMON JACOBS

Graduate Intern:
Editorial Assistant Nov 2017-

What are your favourite films, tv shows, genres or filmmakers?
There are far too many! Instantly I think DRIVE, GONE GIRL and (500) DAYS OF SUMMER. But I’m also an unapologetic comic book fan, and that includes the film adaptations. WATCHMEN would have to be my favourite comic book movie. In terms of TV, LOST, FRINGE, THE X-FILES and DAREDEVIL all stand out. But I also love Guillermo Del Toro, David Fincher, Shane Black and John Carpenter.
What does having your writing published in DIEGESIS mean to you?
Writing for DIEGESIS allows me to delve further into film than I ever have before, and getting the chance to do that is a wonderful experience. The chance to improve my skills and work with other like-minded people is fantastic.
What is your writing process?
I’m that cliché of a writer who is always writing with a coffee in one hand and looks like he hasn’t slept in a few days. My method is brainstorming an idea, then fleshing out each point before I start to formulate a full feature or review.
