DIEGESIS : THE UNCONVENTIONAL MAGAZINE OF FILM AND TELEVISION CRITICISM
Picture

PETER NELSON
@PeterNelsonFilm

What are your favourite films, tv shows, genres or filmmakers?
While it is subject to constant change, currently I’d have to say my favourite film is PADDINGTON 2: a perfect mix of comedy, creativity, action, fantasy, adventure and pure wholesomeness. Other films I love include ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND, LA LA LAND and EDWARD SCISSORHANDS. My favourite TV shows are DETECTORISTS, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT and  OUTNUMBERED. I mostly appreciate and enjoy well written comedy and drama.
What does being published in Diegesis mean to  you?
Being published in Diegesis is a fantastic opportunity. It has encouraged me to think more deeply and critically about the media that I consume, and having something you’ve made be published alongside all of the engaging and insightful articles by other students feels great!
What is your writing process?
First of all, I spend a lot of time planning and re-planning. Once this is done, I attempt to write the entire piece without stopping or thinking too much (as otherwise I start to overthink and nothing gets written). This often leaves me with something that is twice the word count, but I can then whittle it back down to the most important points.
