REVIEW COMPETITION

Review writing competition for UK college and sixth form students.

Want the chance to have your writing published?

Enter our competition and, as well as potentially seeing your writing in print, you might also win an Amazon Fire!

TASK:
Write a 500-750 word short article about one of the following:
  • The opening or closing scene of a film
  • A television pilot episode or series/season finale​
The winning article will win an Amazon Fire and, along with the runner up, will be published in our next "flipped" print issue CUT TO [beginnings] and CUT TO [end].
To enter, send your article as a Word document to [email protected] by 11 March 2019 (extended deadline). Don't forget to include your name and details of your school/college.

Competition rules:
  1. Entrants must be aged between 16 and 18 at the time of entering the competition and registered in full-time education at a UK college or sixth form. Entries by individuals on a gap year will also be considered.
  2. Reviews must be no longer than 750 words.
  3. Reviews must be submitted to [email protected] and accompanied by the entrant's full name, age and name of college/sixth form. 
  4. Reviews must be the entrant's own work. Any quotes or phrases used from the work of others must be clearly acknowledged.
  5. The review must be original. Reviews submitted to the Diegesis competition must not have been published elsewhere in any other form.
  6. The decision of the judging panel is final.
